Heaven, Come Already!

It's funny how pain works.  The mental kind, that is.  The type you feel when someone you love is in pain and there is nothing you can do about it.  Sometimes you know when it hits.  It's like a train barreling down the track at full pace.  Other times it comes more like a horse-drawn carriage.  You have the emotional means to cry and agonize for days, but barely feel the pain.  You can't decipher between the possibility that your brain is automatically blocking your deep, down, inner heart from feeling anything, or if the feeling is there and you are just to numb to notice it.  Either way, it is just as hard, just as grueling, and definitely just as exhausting.  You have two hands, two feet, two eyes, and yet, you can do nothing to ease the suffering.  Life is hard that way.  You wish that pain was something no one ever had to feel.  But, you know that it gives people so much more grace, gentleness, and kindness when everything is going smoothly.  Isn't Heaven going to be a wonderful place?  A place where everyone is grace filled, gentle, and beautifully kind, but not one person will need to feel this thing we all call "pain".  "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." ~ Revelation 21:4

Oh, won't heaven be wonderful?
